936 kilograms of frozen pork were imported from the Federative Republic of Brazil to “Poti and Kulevi Ports and Poti Free Industrial Zone” customs checkpoint. As a result of veterinary border-quarantine control procedures, ensured by the employees of Sanitary, Phytosanitary and Veterinary Control Division of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, it was revealed that due to the inconsistency of the data reflected in the veterinary certificate, the frozen pork did not meet the requirements of the Georgian commodity import operation that poses a threat to public health.
In accordance with the requirements of the Resolution N463 of the Government of Georgia dated 20 September, 2019 on the approval of the rule of phytosanitary border-quarantine and veterinary border-quarantine control, the goods were subject to destruction.
