Deputy Head of the Customs Department held meetings with the representatives of importing companies

Deputy Head of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, Elguja Berandze and the employees of Sanitary, Phytosanitary and Veterinary Control Division met the representatives of importing companies.

Within the frames of the meeting, the Resolution of the Government of Georgia on marketing requirements for imported poultry meat was also discussed, according to which the imported poultry meat must be accompanied by a document of compliance with the requirements of the technical regulation issued by the competent authority of the country of origin. Within the customs control procedures, the same document may be submitted in the form of a veterinary certificate as well, and in the frozen and fast-frozen pieces indicated in it (regardless of the cooling method used), the total amount of water should be not more than 5%.

The working meeting was held in the question and answer mode. Representatives of the private sector were given the opportunity to discuss current topics and challenges. Meetings with the business sector will be regular and active communication will further continue.
